I have a question. What is the maximum amount that we should invest in unit trusts? If the company goes down, how much do we get back (legally)? If there is such a limit, is it per person or per company?

The maximum amount you invest depends on your portfolio, risk tolerance, your investment goals etc. I can’t give you a straight answer to this. It’s completely up to you.

As for your second question, technically you’ll not lose your money if the particular wealth management company bankrupts. That’s why there’s a trustee bank for every fund and it’s a mandatory by SEC.

So theoretically you’re safe if the wealth management company bankrupts.

But keep in mind that if a fund lost it’s value, you will not be protected. That’s a risk you’re taking.
